INDIGO COTTON CORDUROY SERIES
GENTLEMAN presents a new addition to our 2024 Winter Art & Craft Module: The Indigo Cotton Corduroy Series. This series draws inspiration from classic French workwear jackets, Vietnam War utility pants, and hunting coats from the 1930s-1950s, creating a range of wardrobe staples that are both timeless and contemporary.
Our Blazer, Pants, and Hunting Jacket are made from indigo-dyed cotton corduroy fabric with thick and thin stripes, which provides a unique texture and appearance. The varying widths of the stripes add character to the garments.
The Indigo Cotton Corduroy Double Breasted Soft Blazer is the perfect choice for those who want a sophisticated touch to their semi-formal attire. This blazer incorporates classic design elements inspired by the 1920s-1940s French workwear jackets, making it suitable for everyday wear and effortless to style. The French workwear jacket was originally designed for laborers, railroad engineers, and farmers, boasting three or four sizable pockets for storing essentials like parts and tools. These pockets are retained in this structured-free blazer for convenience, which is also effortless to wear and stylish.
The Baker Pants, also known as the OG-107 Fatigue Utility Pants, are inspired by the Vietnam War, which were mainly used as working clothes and combat suits. We modify the classic OG-107 pants by enzyme washing technique and color stabilization for a vintage look and a softer feel, at the same time keeping the 2 L-shape pocket design, button fly, and wide silhouette.
Last but not least is the Indigo Cotton Corduroy Hunting Jacket. This piece is a nod to the French hunting coats from the 1930s-1950s. The jacket's signature silhouette with a slight A-line shape is retained in our modified version, while the original four-pocket style is simplified to a two-pocket style so storage space is still ample.
The pieces can be dressed up or down, making them suitable for a range of occasions.
